Ruth Mellott

Ruth E. Mellott, 84, of Shippensburg, passed away Thursday, June 29, 2017 at Manorcare, Chambersburg.
She was born January 9, 1933 in Shippensburg. Ruth was a daughter of the late Melvin, Sr. and Anna Clever Rosenberry.
She was a member of the Ebenezer United Brethren Church, Greencastle. Ruth worked for over 30 years at SKF Industries and also worked at L’Aiglon, Shirtcraft and was a custodian for the Shippensburg Area School District. She was a member of the Branch Creek Senior Center, Durff-Kuhn VFW Post # 6168 and the Oscar M. Hykes American Legion Post # 223. Ruth enjoyed crocheting, reading, crossword puzzles and latch hooking rugs.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Forrest Mellott, Sr. who passed away July 1, 2009, two sons, Forrest Mellott, Jr. and Ronald Mellott, two daughters, Carol Burkett and Nicole Ott, one sister, Helen Martin and three brothers, Melvin, Jr., Harry and Earl Rosenberry.
She is survived by one daughter Kathy (Harold, Sr.) Mellott of Shippensburg, a daughter-in-law, Lisa Mellott of Chambersburg, six grandchildren, Kathy Ann Seiders, Shawn Burkett, Harold E. Mellott, Jr. Travis Mellott and Forrest and Dallas Miller, ten great-grandchildren, one great-great-granddaughter, one brother, Leroy (Mary) Rosenberry of Shippensburg and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held Monday, July 3, 2017 at 10 .m. in the Fogelsanger-Bricker Funeral Home & Crematorium, Shippensburg with the Rev. Kenneth E. Williamson officiating. Burial will be held in the Cumberland Valley Memorial Gardens, Carlisle. A viewing will be held Sunday evening in the funeral home from 6-8 p.m.
