Ruth E. Neil Forest, 90, a resident at Green Ridge Village, Newville, died Sunday, January 10, 2016 in the home.
Born Wednesday, June 10, 1925 in Roxbury, Franklin County, she was a daughter of the late George and Edith Smith Fields.
Ruth was a member of the First Assembly of God Church, Shippensburg. She along with her late husband was owner operator of Neil’s Garage in Shippensburg, and later spent 14 years working at the Episcopal Home in Shippensburg.
Surviving are one son, William C. Neil, Jr. and his wife Phyllis, of Newville, three sisters; Alice Bender and Carol Shatzley, both of Pleasant Hall, and Peggy Yinger, of Mechanicsburg.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, William C. “Chet” Neil, Sr. who died June 29, 1981, and two children, Leonard R. Neil and Joyce Lynch.
A graveside service will be held Thursday, January 14, 2016 at 10:00 a.m. in Spring Hill Cemetery with The Rev. Marlin A. “Butch” Neil officiating.
