Ruth H. Davidson, 92, a resident of Green Ridge Village, Newville, formerly of Shippensburg, passed away Wednesday, August 10, 2011 in the home.
Born December 3, 1918 in Shippensburg, she was a daughter of the late Isaac and Mary Hock Richardson.
Ruth was a member of the Leesburg United Methodist Church, the Ladies Aid Society and taught Sunday school. She was a member of Cumberland County Farm Women.
During her life Ruth was a homemaker and worked on the family farm. In addition she was a cook at the following places; Shippensburg School District, Johnnie’s Restaurant, and University Lodge, and worked at Shirt Craft.
Ruth was preceded in death by her husband of 69 years, Harry J. “Hen” Davidson, Sr. who died January 20, 2009, a daughter, Shelby J. Motter, a sister, Virginia and two brothers, Paul and Hugh “Bud”.
She is survived by a daughter, Carol Negley and her husband Richard of Newville, three sons, Harry “Jim” Davidson, Jr. and his wife Alice, Richard Davidson and his wife Debbie, and William “Bill” Davidson all of Shippensburg, seven grandchildren, ten great grandchildren, and three great-great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Monday, August 15, 2011 in the Fogelsanger-Bricker Funeral Home Inc., Shippensburg at 11 a.m. Officiating will be The Rev. Barbara A. Servello. Burial will be in Westminster Cemetery. The viewing will be held one hour prior to the services Monday morning.
