Ruth M. Dalton was born on May 21st, 1927 in Groveland, Massachusetts. With her parents and two brothers, she soon moved to Portland, Maine. As a senior in high school, she moved to Walpole, Massachusetts where she met the man who would six years later become her husband. Lastly, she moved after retirement to Shippensburg, Pennsylvania to be near family.
Ruth is preceded in death by her parents, Alfred and Geneva Homan, her brothers, Jesse and Carroll, and her husband of sixty-two years, John “Jack” Dalton. She is survived by her daughters and son-in-law; Suzanne Brown of Chambersburg and Cindy and Michael Pimental of Shippensburg, two granddaughters; Lindsey Fetzer (husband Chris) of Chevy Chase, MD and Kathleen Thomason (husband Charlie) of Shippensburg, two grandsons; David Brown of Austin, TX and Matthew Pimental (wife Azy) of Merion Station, PA and five great-grandchildren; Heidi and Hazel Thomason, Jackson and Will Fetzer and Aryana Pimental.
On January 30th, 2020, Ruth passed at age 92 while residing at Menno Haven in Chambersburg, PA. She is now at peace with the Lord in her eternal heavenly home. She enjoyed good physical health until her last year. Ruth found contentment in a quiet life as a homemaker, wife and mother. She spoke softly and tread lightly through her life.
