Ruth Crouse

Ruth Louise Crouse, 87, a resident of Greenridge Village, Newville, Formerly of Shippensburg, passed away Tuesday, October 18, 2016 in the home.

Born February 11, 1929 in Hopewell Twp., Cumberland County, she was a daughter of the late John E. and Grace E. Burkhart Booz.

Ruth was a member of the Ridge Church of the Brethren, taught Good News Club with Child Evangelism Fellowship for 46 years, taught Sunday school for over 50 years, a volunteer for after school Bible Release at Shippensburg and Big Spring School Districts. She was a 1946 graduate of the former Shippensburg High School. Ruth was an avid quilter and volunteered at Cross Keys Village, New Oxford.

She is survived by two sons, John E. Crouse and his wife Carmen of Germany, and Colin R. Crouse and his wife Doris of Lebanon, two daughters, Diane L. Naugle and her husband Robert, Sr. of Shippensburg, and C. Kay Bartlett and Her husband Rodney of Mechanicsburg, five grandchildren, and nine great grandchildren, one great-great granddaughter, and a number of nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband of 62 years, Donald E. Crouse who died July 2, 2009, one grandson, Terry L. Linn, Jr., two sisters, Helen G. Finkenbinder and Marie Baughman, and one brother, Donald Booz, Sr.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, October 26, 2016 in the Ridge Church of the Brethren at 11 a.m. Officiating will be The Rev. Clarence D. Stouffer and Rev. Harold E. Yeager. Burial will be in the Ridge Cemetery. A viewing will be held Tuesday evening from 6-8 p.m. in the Fogelsanger-Bricker Funeral Home & Crematorium, Shippensburg and one hour prior to the services in church on Wednesday.
