Ruth A. Baker, 86, of Shippensburg, passed away Tuesday, December 13, 2016 in the Falling Spring Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.
She was born November 7, 1930 in Shippensburg. Ruth was a daughter of the late Harper John and Ruth Molly Perry Adams. Her husband, Walter C. Baker passed away November 2, 2016 and one brother, Leroy Adams is also deceased.
She was a member of the Mainsville United Brethren Church, Shippensburg. Ruth retired from the Beistle Company in Shippensburg.
Ruth was a wonderful mother, homemaker, cook, and flower gardener. She enjoyed traveling, camping, babysitting her grandchildren, helping out others, and most of all spending time with her loving family.
She is survived by sons, Walter C. (Laura) Baker, Jr. of Abbottstown, and John B. (Kelly) Baker of Shippensburg; daughters, Ruth A. (James) Dell, and Nancy L. (Robert L. Hewitt) Baker all of Shippensburg; brothers, Clarence Adams of Shippensburg, and Bruce Adams of Indiana; a sister, Dorothy Lehman of Shippensburg; granddaughters, Ruth Marie Dell, and Laura Grace Dell both of Shippensburg, and Christina Ann Carson of Abbottstown; a grandson, John B. Baker, II of Shippensburg; a great grandson, Josiah M. Horn of Abbottstown; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, December 20, 2016 in the Fogelsanger-Bricker Funeral Home & Crematorium, Shippensburg at 10:00 a.m. Officiating will be The Rev. Harold E. Yeager. Burial will be held in the Spring Hill Cemetery. A viewing will be held Monday evening from 6-8 p.m. in the funeral home.
