Ruth L. Alleman, age 82 of Orrstown, went to be with our Lord and Savior on Sunday, April 29, 2012 surrounded by family members.
She was born March 31, 1930 in Chambersburg, Franklin County. She was a daughter of Mary C. Eberly Eckenrode who died October 25, 1994.
Ruth retired from Tracey Fashions in Chambersburg.
Ruth enjoyed bowling, painting ceramics, spending time with family, was an excellent seamstress, and was a faithful fan of her husband’s favorite baseball team, the Baltimore Orioles.
In addition to her mother she was preceded in death by a sister, Dorothy Eckenrode who died June 9, 1986.
She is survived by her husband of 63 years, Frederick G. Alleman, a daughter, Brenda L. Flood and her husband Robert of Fayetteville, a son, Timothy G. Alleman and his wife Diane of Upper Strasburg, four grandchildren, Lori Zimmerman of Roxbury, Daniel Robinson of Fayetteville, Kristin Brown of Chambersburg, and Nathan Alleman of Lower Horse Valley, nine great grandchildren, Amber, Cynthia, Katie, Gage, Natalie, Ethan, Ryan “R.J.”, Logan, and Bryce, two brothers, Russell and Richard Eckenrode both of Chambersburg, four sisters, Donna Hawk and M. Pauline Rife both of Chambersburg, Mildred Spielman of Fayetteville, and Linda Hollenshead of Horntown, VA, and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, May 2, 2012 at 11 a.m. in the Fogelsanger-Bricker Funeral Home Inc., Shippensburg with The Rev. Paul B. Baker officiating. Burial will be in Parklawns Memorial Gardens. A viewing will be held Wednesday morning one hour prior to the services in the funeral home.
