Rufus Ward

Rufus M. Ward, 63, of Shippensburg, died Sunday, March 4, 2012 in his home.
Born September 7, 1948 in Trenton, NJ, Mercer County, he was a son of the late Terry E. and Carrie M. Rigby Ward.
Rufus was the owner and operator of his own tractor trailer and drove for Landstar out of Florida. He was a United States Army Veteran.
Rufus is survived by his wife Barbara A. Jumper Ward, two step-sons, Bradley Kyner and his wife Jennifer, and Bryan Kyner and his wife Heather all of Shippensburg, three sons, Rufus, Jr., Roger, and Russell Ward all of Arizona, one daughter, Melissa Green of Florida, three sisters, Terry Malloy and Caroline Ward both of Georgia, and Kathy Ward of New Jersey, one step-sister, Sharon Pietrowsiki of Kansas, five grandchildren, and four step-grandchildren, Hunter, Garrett, Breanna, and Marisa Kyner all of Shippensburg.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by one step-sister.
Memorial services will be held Thursday, March 8, 2012 in the Fogelsanger-Bricker Funeral Home Inc., Shippensburg at 7 p.m. Officiating will be The Rev. Keith Searfoss. There will be no viewing however a visitation will be held one hour prior to the services in the funeral home.
