Ruby Etter

Ruby Virginia Etter, 91, of Shippensburg, departed this life on the morning of Tuesday, July 25, 2017.
She was born on September 5, 1925, in Chambersburg, a daughter of the late Jacob and Thesta Foreman Leedy. Ruby married Samuel E. Etter, Sr., on January 1, 1945. He preceded her in death on December 10, 1988.
Ruby owned and operated Etter’s Orchard in Mainsville alongside her husband for over thirty-five years, retiring in 1988. She was a member of the Franklin County Society of Farm Women of Pennsylvania and a member of the King Street United Brethren Church, Chambersburg.
She is survived by three children, Samuel E. Etter, Jr., Jane E. (Robert) Lytle, and Fred L. (Sharon) Etter, all of Shippensburg; nine grandchildren; numerous great grandchildren; two great great grandchildren; one brother, Richard Leedy; and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and husband Ruby was preceded in death by five sisters and two brothers.
Her funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m., on Friday, July 28, 2017, at the Fogelsanger-Bricker Funeral Home & Crematorium, Inc., Shippensburg. The Rev. Paul B. Baker will officiate. Interment will follow in the Parklawns Memorial Gardens, Chambersburg.
