Roy F. Yeager, Jr, 73, of Shippensburg, passed away on Friday, October 1, 2021 at UPMC Carlisle Hospital.
Born Sunday, May 9, 1948 in Shippensburg, he was a son of the late Roy W. and Ella Williams Yeager.
Roy was of the Protestant Faith and was an avid supporter of the Kenneth Copeland Ministries, “Word of Faith”
He retired from the Shippensburg School District where he worked as a custodian for over 35 years.
He is survived by six children, Lisa M. Martin, James E. Woods, Paul L. Yeager, all of Shippensburg, Clarissa A. (husband Jerry) Burdette, Cross lanes, WV, Angela M. Yeager, Texas, and Aaron Yeager, New Jersey; one sister, June E. (husband Larry) Mitten; three brothers, Daniel M. Yeager, Rick A. (wife Becky) Yeager, and Robert H. (wife Christine) Yeager, all of Shippensburg and numerous nieces and nephews who adored him.
Also surviving are fifteen grandchildren, Joshua (wife Janele) Burdette, Daniel, Sr. (Shaylynn) Burdette, Mark Strock, Jr., Harley Johnson, Avanna, Jonathan and Preston Martin, Jeffrey, Jennifer and Sarah Yeager, Hannah, Jackson, Keith, Alexis and Angelle; and great grandchildren, Felix and Daniel, Jr. Burdette, Avian, River and Veronica.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Edna Elizabeth Thomas Yeager, who passed away September 20, 2021; two brothers, Joseph M. Yeager, and infant brother, Jackie L. Yeager; and two sisters, Nellou Beretta, and Joan M. Yeager.
A graveside service will be held Friday, October 8, 2021 at 3:00 p.m. in Spring Hill Cemetery, with Rev. Dale A. Detweiler officiating.
