Roy Glen Stouffer, 89, of Lurgan, PA, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, January 24, 2024 at his home, surrounded by his loving family.
Born Tuesday, March 20, 1934 in Lurgan, PA. He was a son of the late Otmer F. and Anna Pearl Coleman Stouffer.
Roy retired March 3, 1988 from Letterkenny Army Depot. After he retired, he worked as a mechanic for the former Stouffer’s Garage in Lurgan. He also worked as a volunteer alongside his wife at the Pleasant Hall Volunteer Fire Company.
Roy enjoyed golfing, bowling, and tinkering around. He was an avid Penn State Nittany Lions fan and a Philadelphia Eagles fan. He was a member of the Orrstown LSL Sportsman Club, and the Hub City Club in Shippensburg.
He is survived by his wife Margaret Romaine Carroll Stouffer; three daughters, Debra D. (Tom) Stover, Chambersburg, Glenda R. Lightner, Lurgan, and Bridget R. Stouffer, Orlando, FL; three granddaughters, Angela R. (Kolby) Turpin, Castle Rock, CO, Melissa S. (Keith) Varner, Greencastle, and Tiffany M. (Jason) Guyer, Chambersburg; one grandson, Adam Hoch, Newburg; one sister, Judy Wilson, Lurgan; and six great-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Ronda J. Perry, a grandson, Jason S. Lightner, four brothers, Lloyd, Lester, Donald, and Fred Stouffer; and three sisters, Grace Jones, Peg Boyd, and Esther Diehl.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, January 31, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. at the Fogelsanger-Bricker Funeral Home & Crematorium Inc., with Pastor James R. Martin officiating. Burial will be in Parklawns Memorial Gardens. A viewing will be held one hour prior to the service on Wednesday, at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Pleasant Hall Volunteer Fire Company, 9722 Cumberland Highway, Pleasant Hall, PA 17246.
