Roy Myers

Roy L. Myers, Sr., 71, of Shippensburg, died Monday, December 24, 2012 in the M.S. Hershey Medical Center.

Roy was born October 29, 1941 in Newville, Cumberland County. He was a son of the late Wilbur and Helen Holtry Myers.

Roy retired after over 35 years of employment at the former Newville Shoe Company. He was a member of the Grace United Church of Christ in Shippensburg. Roy enjoyed fishing, hunting, camping and his family.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by four sisters, Connie Myers, Twyla Lynch, June Zinn, and Esther Parsons, and a brother, Wilbur Myers.

Roy is survived by his wife Sarah I. “Judy” Nehf Myers, one son, Roy Lee Myers, Jr. and his wife Tawni, one daughter, Renee S. Jones and her husband Ray, two grandchildren, Cade R. Myers and Lindsay B. Jones, one brother, Gerald Myers, three sisters, Delores Ocker, Judy Stine, and Romaine Jones all of Shippensburg.

Memorial services will be held Friday, December 28, 2012 in the Fogelsanger-Bricker Funeral Home Inc., Shippensburg at 11 a.m.
Officiating will be The Rev. George W. Heckard. A private burial will be in Parklawns Memorial Gardens. There will be no viewing however a visitation will be held one hour prior to the services in the funeral home.
