Roy Ernest Keck, 81, of Shippensburg, departed this life on the morning of Thursday, March 27, 2025, in the comfort of his own home.
He was born on July 22, 1943, in Washington, D.C., a son of the late Roy J. and Victoria H. (Gilbert) Keck. Roy was a United States Marine Corp veteran of the Vietnam War, enlisting on June 8, 1962 and honorably discharged on October 24, 1966. He married Darlena M. Queor on August 6, 1994, in Harrisburg, PA.
Roy was employed as a truck driver for forty years, driving for Halls Motors, Carolina Freight, Rich’s Foods, and ABF, retiring in 2004. He was a member of the Grace United Church of Christ, Shippensburg; a life member of the Durff-Kuhn V.F.W. Post #6168, Shippensburg; and a member of the Marine Corps Heritage Foundation. Roy was very patriotic and was very proud of his time in the Marine Corp, and his service to his country.
In his free time, Roy enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping, swimming, model trains, and target shooting. He possessed an abundance of energy and seemed to always be tinkering on something or other around the house. Roy was known to be a very kind hearted and generous man that had a great smile and an infectious laugh.
In addition to his wife of 31 years, Darlena, he is survived by one son, Roy E. Keck, Jr., and wife Crystal of Middletown; two step-sons, Jeff S. Belile of Harrisburg and Dale R. Belile of Massena, NY; a step-daughter, Tammy L.M. Lafrentz and husband John of Chicago, IL; five grandchildren, Kiersten Stoner, MacKenzie, Corinn, and Deacon Belile, and Dylan Lafrentz; nine great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Roy was preceded in death by two brothers, Barry and Ronald.
His funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m., on Tuesday, April 1, 2025 at the Fogelsanger-Bricker Funeral Home & Crematorium, Inc, Shippensburg. Pastor George Heckard will officiate. Interment with military honors will follow in the Spring Hill Cemetery. Viewing will be Monday evening from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m., at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Grace United Church of Christ at 121 E Orange St, Shippensburg, PA 17257.
