Roy N. “Tiny” Bowermaster, 76, of Shippensburg, passed away Tuesday, August 27, 2024 at UPMC Carlisle Hospital.
Born Tuesday, March 23, 1948 in Walnut Bottom, he was a son of the late Janet J. (Bowermaster) Hartman.
Roy was a United States Army Veteran serving in the Vietnam War. He retired from D & J Truck Repair, Shippensburg, as a mechanic, with 25 years of service.
Roy was a faithful listener of Tradio on the Radio. He loved tinkering around and working on junk cars. Roy was a very hard working man. He was dedicated, committed, loyal, and devoted to everything he was working on. Roy would drop whatever he was doing to go help others. He enjoyed going to the beach, and loved and cherished his family.
He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Mary A. (Shields) Bowermaster, whom he married September 24, 1976; one son, Jerry L. (Tammy) Shields, Shippensburg; two daughters, Janie S. Perry, Shippensburg, and Sherry A. Acre, Gettysburg; six grandchildren, Josh H. Perry, Winder, GA, Alan M. Sterner, Chambersburg, Tiffany A. Frey, Shippensburg, Natasha L. Shields, Cameron N. Sterner, and Brandon R. Shields, all of Shippensburg; two great-grandchildren, Tabor Q. Frey, and Torryn R. Frey, both of Shippensburg; and two brothers, twin Leroy M. Bowermaster, Walnut Bottom, and Clarence “Junior” Hartman , Jr., Carlisle.
In addition to his mother, he was preceded in death by one brother, Larry Bowermaster.
A graveside service will be held Sunday, September 1, 2024 at 2:00 p.m. in Rehoboth Cemetery with Military Honors conducted by the Oscar M. Hykes American Legion Post # 223. The Rev. David A. Erisman officiate. A viewing will be held Sunday, from 1:00 until 1:45 p.m. at the Fogelsanger-Bricker Funeral Home & Crematorium Inc.
