Roswitha M. “Rose” Diehl, 59, of Shippensburg, went to be with the Lord surrounded by her family Friday, January 13, 2012 after a long courageous battle with ALS.
Born January 3, 1953 in Hohmuhlbach, Germany, she was a daughter of the late Hermann and Hildegard Fritz Lemke.
Rose was a member of the Green Spring First Church of God and their New Life Sunday School Class. She retired from the Beistle Company after 28 years of employment.
Rose is survived by her husband Gerald A. Diehl, Jr., two sons, Todd C. Diehl and his fiancée Karen Smith of Newville, and Anthony L. Diehl and his wife Amy of Orrstown, one granddaughter, Madelyn Smith, three sisters, Waltraud Maurer, and Irmhilde Gessner both of Germany, and Hannelore Parson of Newville and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, January 18, 2012 at 11 a.m. in the Green Spring First Church of God, Newville. Officiating will be The Rev. Philip Steele. Burial will be in Parklawns Memorial Gardens. A viewing will be held Tuesday evening from 6-8 p.m. in the Fogelsanger-Bricker Funeral Home Inc., Shippensburg and one hour prior to the services in church Wednesday morning.
