Ross Fetrow, Jr., 70, of Shippensburg, departed this life on the evening of Wednesday, November 24, 2021.
He was born on March 25, 1951, in Mechanicsburg, a son of the late Ross and Annie L. (Burger) Fetrow. Ross was a U.S. Marine Corps. Veteran of the Vietnam war, enlisting on December 31, 1969, and honorably discharged on December 17, 1973. He married Kandy S. Hockenberry on November 26, 1973, in Baltimore, MD.
Ross worked as a mechanic at Family Ford, Harrisburg, for sixteen years. He then moved on to work at Graham Packaging, York, also for sixteen years, from where he retired.
In his free time, Ross enjoyed working on cars and tractors, especially Mopar and John Deere products. He also liked to hunt, fish, and watch old western movies. Ross was known for his low-key and laid back demeanor and he received great joy while spending time with all of his grandchildren.
In addition to his wife of forty-eight years, Kandy, he is survived by three children, Ross Fetrow, III and wife Corissa of Etters, Amber Dacheux and husband Bryan of Windsor, and Shane Fetrow of Mechanicsburg; seven grandchildren, Aubrey, Chloe, Katiana, Aidan, Weston, Hayden, and Ashton; six siblings, Richard Fetrow, Deborah Beard, Cynthia Leeper, Diana Orris, Douglas Fetrow, and Raymond Fetrow; two step-sisters, Linda Scheirer and Pat Roh; and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to his biological parents, Ross was preceded in death by his step-mother, June Fetrow; and a sister, Ellen Moore.
His funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m., on Friday, December 3, 2021, at the Fogelsanger-Bricker Funeral Home & Crematorium, Inc., Shippensburg. Military honors, conducted by the Oscar M. Hykes American Legion Post #223, Shippensburg, will follow after the service, outside of the funeral home. Viewing will be from 1:00 p.m., until 2:00 p.m., on Friday afternoon at the funeral home.
