Rose M. Herr, 91, resident of Orrstown Personal Care Home, passed away the morning of Wednesday, August 4, 2021.
She was born on Saturday, December 14, 1929 in Walnut Bottom, a daughter of the late Joseph Pattison and Laura E. (Escher) McBeth.
Rose worked as a telephone operator supervisor for The United Telephone Company for over 20 years. She loved gardening and working in her flower beds. She was an excellent cook and enjoyed canning. She loved her grandchildren and great grandchildren dearly, and was a wonderful mother to her three children. She was also a member of the Red Hat Society.
She is survived by two sons, Michael L. “Mike” (Robin) Herr of Shippensburg, and William J. Herr of San Diego, CA; one daughter, Amy (Stephen) Devine of West Chester; seven grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Lloyd H. “Ben” Herr who passed away on February 9, 2014. Also preceding her in death is one sister, Sally Hopkins.
Her funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the Fogelsanger-Bricker Funeral Home & Crematorium, Inc., Shippensburg. There will be no public viewing, visitation, or service. Online condolences may be expressed at www.fogelsanger-brickerfuneralhome.com.
