Rose E. Blattenberger, 89, of Shippensburg, passed away Friday, August 16, 2019 in the Shippensburg Health Care Center.
She was born December 14, 1929 in Tazewell County, VA. Rose was a daughter of the late O. and Neva Altizer Ferrell.
She was a member of the First Assembly of God Church, Shippensburg, and many years ago worked at the U-Wanna-Wash Frock Company.
In addition to her parents, Rose was preceded in death by her first husband, Russell C. Hockenberry who passed away January 27, 1983. She was also preceded in death by one son, Jerry D. Hockenberry; one daughter, Barbara Evans; and 13 brothers and sisters.
Rose is survived by her husband of 35 years, Robert L. Blattenberger; one daughter, Frances E. Hepfer of Chambersburg; three sons, Robert J. (Sandra) Hockenberry of Orrstown, and Gary W. Hockenberry and Rodney R. Hockenberry, both of Shippensburg; four step-daughters, Beverly J. (Allen) Bumbaugh of York, Barbara I. (Sergio) Contreras of Spokane, WA, Peggy D. (Robert) Ford of Montrose, PA and Angela D. (Tom) Hartman of Benton, PA; two brothers, Fulton M. Ferrell of Middletown, VA and Harry Ferrell of Fresno, CA; and numerous grandchildren; great-grandchildren; and great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, August 21, 2019 at 11 a.m. in the First Assembly of God Church, Shippensburg, with The Rev. Daniel E. Cluck officiating. Burial will be in the Mongul Cemetery. A viewing will be held one hour prior to the services in church on Wednesday.
