Rose Letitia (Rotz) Bender, 91, of Newburg, went Home to be with her Lord on Tuesday, April 6, 2021 in the UPMC Carlisle Regional Hospital surrounded by her loving family.

She was born Saturday, December 21, 1929 in Hopewell Township, Cumberland County to the late Frank Guy and Mildred May (Holtry) Rotz. Rose was happily married to David A. Bender, celebrating 67 years of marriage before his death on April 13, 2016.

Rose was a long-time member of the Newburg First Church of God, where she served on the Church Council, was a Sunday School teacher in the Children’s Department and was a member of the Women’s Ever Ready Sunday School Class. In her earlier years, she was a charter member of the former Newburg Dessie Priscilla Rebekah Lodge #100, a member of the Cumberland County Farm Women’s Group #21, and a member of the Shippensburg Senior Citizens Group #1. Additionally, both Rose and her husband took pleasure in volunteering at the Shippensburg Fair Craft Building.

Rose was primarily a homemaker who enjoyed traveling, bowling, ceramics, sewing and crafts; but her lifetime devotion was her loving husband and her family.

She is survived by five children, Sharon L. (D. Alan) Mathna, Chambersburg, Sandra J. Weibley, Carlisle, Robert D. (Tammy) Bender, Newburg, Larry E. Bender, Carlisle and Stephen L. Bender (partner Kelli Bowermaster), Shippensburg; two sisters, Helen M. Burkholder and Edith D.
