Ronald G. Rowles, 75, a resident of Menno-Haven, Chambersburg, passed away Wednesday, December 26, 2018.
He was born Saturday, August 14, 1943 in Lurgan, PA. Ronald was a son of the late Raymond and Clara Stake Rowles.
He was a member of the Mowersville Brethren in Christ Church. Ronald retired from James River Corporation, Chambersburg and was a United States Army Veteran of the Vietnam War. He was an avid fan of the Philadelphia Eagles and Phillies, Penn State Nittany Lions Football. Ronald collected coins, hunted arrowheads and Indian artifacts and enjoyed hunting and fishing. He was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend.
He is survived by one son, Randal G. Rowles and his wife Jamie of Shippensburg; two daughters, Rhonda J. Rowles of Orrstown and Rita E. Rowles of Shippensburg; two sisters, Judy Mowers and her husband Robert of Newburg and Bonnie Oddo and her husband John of Huntsville, AL; two brothers, Bernard Rowles and his wife Wanda of East Waterford and Jackie Rowles and his wife Wanda of Shippensburg; seven grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Barbara J. Beidel Rowles who passed away November 5, 1991. One sister, Genevieve Reese and one grandson, Carlton Rowles are also deceased.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, December 29, 2018 at 10 a.m. in the Mowersville Brethren in Christ Church, Newburg. Officiating will be The Rev. David S. Halteman. Burial with military honors conducted by the Minutemen of the Shippensburg American Legion will be in the church cemetery. A viewing will be held Friday evening from 6-8 p.m. in the Fogelsanger-Bricker Funeral Home and Crematorium, Shippensburg.
