Ronald Eugene Jumper, 75, of Carlisle, departed this life on the afternoon of Monday, April 14, 2025, at the UPMC Harrisburg Hospital.
He was born on January 29, 1950, in Walnut Bottom, a son of the late Clarence Koser Jumper and Mildred (Flory) Wyrick. Ron married Cynthia Ann (Miller) Armstrong on July 6, 1990, in Carlisle.
Ron was employed at Carlisle Syntec for thirty five years, retiring in 2005. Afterward he began working at dairy farms, first for Bob Keefer and most recently for the Barrick farm in Newville, which he absolutely loved.
In his free time Ron enjoyed watching football and was an avid fan of Penn State. He also liked going to the Williams Grove Speedway to watch Lance DeWease race. Above all else Ron enjoyed spending time with his large family.
In addition to his wife of thirty-five years, Cynthia, he is survived by three children, Heather Armstrong and companion Dean E. Miller of Carlisle, Zechariah R. Armstrong and wife Julie of Pensacola, FL, and Bradley Jumper of Newville; three grandchildren, Xavier A. Shughart, Sylvanna “Sylvie” G. Shughart, and Isabella C. Armstrong; seven siblings, Nancy Hockenberry and husband Eugene of Chambersburg, Jane Wyrick and husband Jerry of Walnut Bottom, C. William Jumper and wife Wanda of Walnut Bottom, Robert Jumper and companion Louise of Walnut Bottom, Patsy Jumper of Walnut Bottom, Barbara Ward of Shippensburg, and Donald Jumper and wife Kathy of Gardners; thirteen nieces and nephews; twenty five great nieces and nephews; and six great great nieces and nephews.
In addition to his biological parents, Ron was preceded in death by his step-father, Harry Wyrick; one brother, Richard Jumper; and one sister, Mary Grimes.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 12:00 p.m. (noon) on Saturday, April 26, 2025, in the Cleversburg United Methodist Church, 2 Walnut Dale Road, Shippensburg. The Rev. Janice Bye will officiate. Visitation will be concurrent with light refreshments and fellowship in the church social hall, after the service. Interment will be private.
