Ronald L. “Ronnie” Gipe, 63, of Chambersburg, departed this life on the afternoon of Thursday, April 27, 2023, at Chambersburg Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation, where he had resided since 2017.
He was born on June 28, 1959, in Waynesboro, a son of Ora (Horn) Gipe and the late Russell Gipe. Ronnie married Pamela Cook on October 6, 1979, in Chambersburg. She preceded him in death in 2018.
Ronnie was a truck driver all of his life until his stroke in 2016. He was last employed with RMI, but worked for David H. Martin, Grove, Lurgan Leasing, and Cressler/Keen Trucking, over the years.
Ronnie loved his dogs and taking his late wife Pam to the beach. He had a lot of great trucking friends which he loved a lot and they all stood by him over the years.
In addition to his mother, Ronnie is survived by two children, Ronald Lee Gipe and wife Jessica of Fayetteville and Rhonda Gossert and husband Rocky of Shippensburg; two grandchildren, Nathaniel and Catherine Gipe; four sisters, Elaine of Florida, Deborah Wenger of Shippensburg, Vonnie Pittman and husband James of Fayetteville, and Connie Gipe and wife Tiffani of Shippensburg; one brother, Dennis Neil and wife Debbie of Lebanon; many nieces and nephews; and numerous great nieces and nephews, that he loved so much.
In addition to his father and wife, Ronnie was preceded in death by a brother in law, Alan Wenger.
His funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the Fogelsanger-Bricker Funeral Home & Crematorium, Inc., Shippensburg. There will be no viewing, visitation, or funeral service at this time. However, a memorial service will be planned for Ronnie at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the funeral home to help defray funeral expenses.
