Roanld Eugene Bigler, I, 62, devoted son, husband, father, and grandfather, departed this life on the morning of Monday, October 10, 2016.

Born on April 26, 1954, in Chambersburg, a son of the late Clarence Edward Bigler and Janet Holtry Bigler (Samuel H.) Swartz. Ronald was a 1973 graduate of Shippensburg High School and earned and Associates Degree in Accounting from the Hiram G. Andrews School, Johnstown. He married Barbara Jean Pringle on April 14, 1973 at the Wesleyan Church, Shippensburg.

Ronald worked for Time Warner Cable, now Comcast, in the construction division, for almost twenty years and was also a former U.S. Census taker. He was community minded as a very active, life member, of the Vigilant Hose Company. #1, Shippensburg, where he served as a former Assistant Chief and Engineer. Ronald was a social member of the Minnequa Club, Durff Kuhn VFW Post #6168, and Oscar M. Hykes American Legion Post #223, all of Shippensburg and a life member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles #1299, Carlisle. In his free time, he was a member and lead electric guitarist of several country music bands which played at many of the local area social clubs and he was also a jack-of-all-trades, who loved to take on all kind of home improvement projects and build things with his son.

In addition to his mother, step-father, and wife of forty-three years Ronald is survived by his daughter, Dawn Marie (Richard) Bolinger of Natrona Heights; his son, Ronald Eugene (Candy Sue) Bigler, II of Shippensburg; seven grandchildren, Brett Bigler, Rebecca J. Bigler, Vicktoria Bigler Gordon, Shelby A. Bigler, Randall Bolinger, Isabella P. Bigler, and Abagayle L. Bigler; two great grandchildren, Skyler A. Oats and Keenan D. Gordon; three siblings, Terry E. Bigler, Christine L. Kling, and Timothy W. Bigler; four step-siblings, David Swartz, Danny Ray Swartz, Sandra K. Davis, and Georgia L. Swartz; and many nieces and nephews.

There will be a public visitation, receiving of friends and family, on Friday, October 14, 2016, from 7:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., at the Fogelsanger-Bricker Funeral Home & Crematorium, Inc., Shippensburg.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Diabetes Association at 150 Monument Road Suite 100 Bala Cynwyd, Pennsylvania, 19004 or the Vigilant Hose Company #1 at 20 Walnut Bottom Road Shippensburg, PA 17257.
