Roger E. Kelley, 69, of Shippensburg, passed away on Tuesday, July 12, 2022 at his home surrounded by his loving family.
Born Sunday, June 7, 1953 in Chambersburg, he was a son of Martha M. Lynch Kelley of Shippensburg, and the late Herman S. Kelley, Jr.
He retired from the Hub City Club in Shippensburg where he worked as their bartender for 31 years. He was a member of the Hub City Club, Oscar M. Hykes American Legion Post # 223, Durff-Kuhn VFW Post # 6168, Minnequa Social Club, and the Loyal Order of Moose #2500, all in Shippensburg, The Carlisle Club, Fraternal Order of Eagles #1299, Amvets Post #274, all in Carlisle, the Landis-McCleaf Marine Corps League, and the Amvets Post # 224 both in Chambersburg and the Walnut Bottom Rod and Gun Club.
Roger enjoyed shooting pool, riding horses, mowing his grass, playing Bingo, and he loved the outdoors. He loved spending time with his family and friends.
In addition to his mother, he is survived by his wife of 50 years, Deborah A. Clendening Kelley, whom he married January 8, 1972; two sons, Roger D. “Teeter” (fiancee’ Nikki) Kelley, and Travis E. (fiancee’ Crystal) Kelley, all of Shippensburg; one brother, Larry L. (Debbie) Kelley, Newville; two sisters, Betty (Richard) Bauserman, Shippensburg, and Linda Kreb, Mt Holly Springs; six grandchildren, Amber (Mason) Middaugh, Hunter Stiver, Emily Stiver, Taylor Wiser, Chelsea Wiser, and Kyra Kelley; and seven great grandchildren, Evan Varner, Jayce Kelley, Hayden Stiver, Aliyah Stiver, Giovonnie Stiver, Kinsley and Anniston Hruniuk.
In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by a sister, Mary Mael.
Funeral services will be held Monday, July 18, 2022 at 7:00 p.m. in the Fogelsanger-Bricker Funeral Home & Crematorium Inc, with Rev. David A. Erisman officiating. Burial will be private. A viewing will be held Monday from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m.in the funeral home.
