Roberta Morrison

Roberta M. “Bertie” Morrison, 86, a resident of the Episcopal Home, died Saturday, January 1, 2011 in the home.
Born November 2, 1924 in Saxton, she was a daughter of the late Caulder and Flo Truax Dickinson.
She attended the Mongul United Brethren Church and was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Durff-Kuhn VFW Post # 6168. She enjoyed sewing, crafts, cooking, baking and doing furniture uphlolstery.
Roberta is survived by eleven children; Alice Mathna and her husband Dallas, Judy VanScyoc and her husband Wesley, and Tam Crider and her husband Jerry all of Shippensburg, David Black and his wife Donna, Dorothy Keebaugh and her husband Edgar, and Rose Reed and her husband Gary all of Chambersburg, Douglas Black and his wife Elizabeth, and Stephen Black and his wife Debra all of Newburg, Wade Black and his wife Avis, and Ruth Shughart and her husband Ron all of Carlisle, and Robert Black and his wife Wanda of Orrstown, one step son, Charles Morrison of Newville, two sisters; Maude Thomas of McConnellsburg, and Gaye McConnaughey of Huntingdon, two brothers; Jake Dickinson of Everett, and Leroy Dickinson of Mont Alto, 21 grandchildren, 2 step grandchildren, 30 great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, Merrill E. Black, her second husband, Ralph Morrison, one daughter, Juanita Martin and two brothers are also deceased.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, January 6, 2011 in the Fogelsanger-Bricker Funeral Home Inc., Shippensburg at 11 a.m. Officiating will be the Rev. Rocky W. Spear. Burial will be in the Mongul Cemetery. A viewing will be held Wednesday evening from 6-8 p.m. in the funeral home.
