Robert Leo “PAP” Willhide, 89, of Shippensburg, died Wednesday, January 30, 2013 in the Shippensburg Health Care Center.
Born Tuesday, January 1, 1924 in Waynesboro, he was a son of the late Leo and Beulah Motz Willhide.
Robert was a United States Army Veteran serving in WWII. Bob retired in 1984 from Letterkenny Army Depot as a Carpenter. He was of the Protestant Faith.
Bob was a member of the Oscar M. Hykes Post # 223 American Legion. He loved spending time with his family especially his great grandchildren.
Surviving is two sons, Jay E. Clough and his wife Terry and Earl L. Willhide and his wife Patsy; one daughter, Cindy L. Shoap and her companion Mark Vaughn all of Shippensburg, four grandchildren, Jason Clough, Susan Seeders, Trena Clough and Debra Goshorn; three great grandchildren, Dustin, Jessica and Erika Goshorn; and one sister, Deloris Olson and her husband Arnold of Chambersburg.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Esther C. Clough Willhide who died February 13, 1997 and one brother Gene Gift.
Funeral services will be held Monday, February 4, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. in the Fogelsanger-Bricker Funeral Home Inc., with the Rev. Daniel E. Cluck officiating. Burial will be in Spring Hill Cemetery with military honors conducted by the Shippensburg Veterans Council. A viewing will be held one hour prior to the service in the funeral home.
