Robert E. “Bunk” Tolbert, 81, of Shippensburg, died Sunday, December 19, 2010.
Born September 24, 1929 in Chambersburg, he was a son of the late Robert E. and Eva Nuckles Tolbert.
He was a member of the Prince Street United Brethren Church in Shippensburg. Bunk retired from the Shipping and Receiving Department at Letterkenny Army Depot in 1988, a United States Air Force Veteran of World War II and was a 1947 graduate of the Chambersburg Area Senior High School. He was a member of the Charles Nitterhouse VFW Post # 1599, Chambersburg.
In addition to his parents Bunk was preceded in death by his wife, June E. Railing Tolbert who died September 19, 2005, one daughter, Robin Killian, two sisters; Josephine Littleton and Lorretta Wilcox are also deceased.
He is survived by, two step-sons; Dennis L. Clugh of Port Orchard, WA, and David W. Clugh of Chambersburg, three brothers; Rodney Tolbert of Shippensburg, Ralph Tolbert of Chambersburg and Michael Tolbert of Auburn, PA, one granddaughter, Staci Goe of Cummings, GA, five step grandchildren, two great- grandchildren, six step great-granchildren and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, December 23, 2010 in the Fogelsanger-Bricker Funeral Home Inc., Shippensburg at 12 noon with a viewing from 10:30 a.m. until the time of services. Officiating will be The Rev. James O. Bolich. Burial with military honors will be conducted by the Shippensburg VFW and American Legion Posts in the Spring Hill Cemetery.
