Robert E. “Bob” Runshaw, 79, of Shippensburg, passed away Thursday, November 14, 2024 at his home.

Born Wednesday, March 21, 1945 in Orrstown, he was a son of the late Paul R. and Grace V. Rhoads Runshaw.

Robert was a 1963 graduate of the Shippensburg High School. He served in the National Guard. He retired January 2, 1999 from Letterkenny Army Depot as an Electronics Mechanic. Bob facilitated the smooth general operations of Runshaw’s Tax Service for many years.

Robert was a member of the Hub City Club, Minnequa Social Club, Oscar M. Hykes American Legion Post # 223, Durff-Kuhn VFW Post # 6168, all in Shippensburg, and the Amvets Post # 224, Chambersburg. He enjoyed pitching horseshoes, watching wrestling, old westerns, and sports, especially Penn State Football.

He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Helen Heefner Runshaw; four children, Scott (Nikki) Runshaw, Shippensburg, Terry Runshaw, Fayetteville, Melissa (Brandon) Pugsley, Leesburg, VA, and Casey (Shawn) Mowers, Bowdoinham, ME; nine grandchildren, Levi Runshaw, Garrett Mowers, Alexis (Dalton) Peck, Mikayla Runshaw, Zachary Mowers, Asher, Eli, Macy, and Gavin Pugsley; two great grandchildren, Charlotte and Briar Peck; seven siblings, Leroy (Doris) Runshaw, Roxbury, Alice Stouffer, Shippensburg, Jerry (Ernie) Runshaw, Cantonment, FL, Linda Caudill, Orrstown, Barry (Jean) Runshaw, Orrstown, Ken (Brenda) Runshaw, Chambersburg, and John (Cheryl) Runshaw, Shippensburg; sister-in-law, Joyce Runshaw; and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Samuel and Richard Runshaw.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, November 19, 2024 at 1:00 p.m. at the Fogelsanger-Bricker Funeral Home & Crematorium Inc., with the Pastor John W. Runshaw officiating. Burial will be in Mongul Cemetery. A viewing will be held one hour prior to the service on Tuesday, at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to a local fire department or the Mennonite Disaster Relief Fund.
