Robert E. Miller, Sr., 67, of Shippensburg, died Thursday, September 11, 2014 in the Emergency Room at the Chambersburg Hospital.
He was born July 24, 1947 in Gettysburg, Adams County. Robert was a son of the late Everett L. Miller, Sr. and Mary C. Koser Miller Clippinger. He also was preceded in death by his step-father, Paul W. “Clip” Clippinger.
Robert retired after more than 35 years of employment at Carlisle Syntec. He was a United States Army Veteran of Vietnam and a life member of the Durff-Kuhn VFW Post # 6168, Shippensburg.
He is survived by his wife of 37 years, Edwinna L. Scmittle Miller, one son, Robert E. (Crystal) Miller, Jr., and two grandchildren, Braxton and Olivia Miller all of Shippensburg, three sisters, Bonita K. Ocker, and Teresa A. Clough both of Shippensburg, and Pamela J. Pevahouse of Bunker Hill, WV, three brothers, Everett L. Miller, Jr. of Falkville, AL, Jeffrey A. Miller of Shippensburg, and Michael C. Miller of Newburg, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, September 16, 2014 in the Fogelsanger-Bricker Funeral Home, Shippensburg at 11 a.m. Officiating will be The Rev. Barbara A. Servello. Burial with military honors conducted by the Shippensburg Veteran’s Council will be in Spring Hill Cemetery. A visitation will be held one hour prior to the services on Tuesday in the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to a favorite Veteran’s organization.
