Robert Hinds

Robert N. Hinds, Jr., 83, a resident of the Shippensburg Health Care Center, died Saturday, December 6, 2014 in the center.

He was born October 8, 1931 in Linglestown, PA. Robert was a son of the late Robert N., Sr. and Alice Hinebaugh Hinds.

He retired from Bethlehem Steel Corp., Steelton and was a member of the Newburg First Church of God. Robert was a United States Army Veteran of the Korean War. Robert and his wife were foster parents for many children.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Hazel S. Smith Hinds who died November 20, 2006. Two sisters, Joann Hinds and Winifred Hinds are also deceased.

Robert is survived by one son, Chris A. Hinds and his wife Lori of Shippensburg, a foster son, Donald Sutherland and his wife Aimee of Reading, one brother, Alden Hinds of Tower City, one sister, June McFalls of Texas, seven grandchildren, and 13 great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, December 11, 2014 in the Fogelsanger-Bricker Funeral Home, Shippensburg at 10:30 a.m. Officiating will be The Rev. John Byers. Burial with military honors conducted by the Shippensburg Veteran’s Council will be in Cumberland Valley Memorial Gardens. A viewing will be held one hour prior to the services in the funeral home Thursday morning.
