Robert Eckenrode

Robert E. "Bob" Eckenrode Sr., age 71 of Amberson, passed away on Friday, May 7th, 2021 at the Chambersburg Hospital surrounded by his family. Born October 11th, 1949 at home in Amberson, he was the son of the late Earl Elmer and Betty (Hammond) Eckenrode.
Bob was in the logging business and worked at Grove Manufacturing Company and JLG. He also worked at the Raskas Cheese Factory in Shippensburg.
He was a member of Amberson United Methodist Church and the Path Valley Lions Club. Bob enjoyed hunting, pitching horseshoes, camping and spending time with family.
Surviving are four children, Valerie (and Scott) Mackey of St. Thomas, Robert Jr. (and Mandy) Eckenrode, Scott (and Amy) Eckenrode both of Shippensburg, and Deanna (and Olagundoye) Olowokere of Roxbury; six grandchildren, Matthew, Taylor, Alex, Hailey, Carter, and Cole; and 2 great grandchildren Taylor Michael Jr., and Roslyn Rose. Also surviving are two brothers, Gary and Daryl; and four sisters, Elaine, Sharon, Sandy and Rhonda. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Susan J. (Heffner) Eckenrode who passed in 2004, and one brother Marlin Ecknenrode.
A celebration of life service will be held on Friday, May 14th, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. at the Amberson United Methodist Church, 18889 Amberson Road, Amberson PA.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Amberson United Methodist Church.
