Robert L. Dangler, 67 of Shippensburg, died Sunday, September 18, 2011 in his home.
Born November 30, 1943 in Chambersburg, he was a son of Nellie Clippinger Dangler of Chambersburg and the late Mervin Dangler.
Robert retired from SKF Industries and the Beistle Company. He was a 1962 graduate of the Chambersburg Area Senior High School.
He was a member of the Loyal Order of the Moose Lodge # 842, AMVETS Post # 224, Oscar M. Hykes American Legion Post # 223, Durff-Kuhn VFW Post # 6168, Hub City Club, Minnequa Social Club, LSL Sportsman’s Assoc., and the Shippensburg Fly Fishing Club.
In addition to his mother he is survived by his wife of 46 years, Vivian M. Mathna Dangler, three sons, Rodney L. Dangler of Baltimore, Richard E. Dangler and his wife Karen of Orrstown, Michael A. Dangler and his companion Lori Powell of Orrstown, three grandchildren, Garin, Bethany, and Trent Dangler, two brothers, Lester and Roy Dangler both of Chambersburg, and a sister, Ruth Zook of Chambersburg.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, September 22, 2011 in the Mongul United Brethren Church at 2 p.m. Officiating will be The Rev. Rocky W. Spear. Burial will be in Mongul Cemetery. A viewing will be held Wednesday evening from 6-8 p.m. in the Fogelsanger-Bricker Funeral Home Inc., Shippensburg.
