Richard Wahl

Dr. Richard W. Wahl, 79, of Shippensburg, died Wednesday, June 6, 2012 in the Chambersburg Hospital.
Born December 5, 1932 in State College, PA, he was a son of the late Herbert and Ethel Shaeffer Wahl.
Dr. Wahl was a Biology Professor at Shippensburg University retiring after over 24 years of service. He was a member of Christ United Methodist Church in Shippensburg. Dr. Wahl received his Ph.D. from Penn State in 1970. He enjoyed hunting, fly fishing, golfing and gardening.
He is survived by his wife, Coleta Ann Wyatt Wahl whom he married over 51 years ago, three sons, Mark R. Wahl and his wife Mary of Loysville, Michael L. Wahl and his wife Lynette of Damascus, MD, and Max S. Wahl and his wife Elizabeth of Maugansville, MD, four grandchildren, Jillian and Angela Wahl of Damascus, MD, Alex Wahl of Loysville, and Richard Wahl of Maugansville, two step grandchildren, Nikkilette and Alexxi Arena of Clarksburg, MD.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by one brother and one sister.
Funeral services will be held Monday, June 11, 2012 at 10 a.m. in Christ United Methodist Church, Shippensburg with The Rev. Michael C. Weigel officiating. Burial will be private. A viewing will be held Sunday evening from 6-8 p.m. in the Fogelsanger-Bricker Funeral Home Inc., Shippensburg.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, 3544 N. Progress Ave., Suite 205, Harrisburg, PA 17110.
