Richard L. Naugle, 92, of Liverpool NY (previously of Shippensburg), passed away peacefully on July 18, 2016. He was predeceased by his father and mother, Roy C. and Ardella (Seitz) Naugle, and sister, Donna (Naugle) Gruver.
He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Ruth L. (Brandt) Naugle of Liverpool NY; his daughter Cindy (Steve) Wiestling of Liverpool NY; two granddaughters, Christine (Phillip) Rabice of Cicero NY, and Caryn (George) Bullis of Ithaca NY; four great- grandchildren, Isabella and Daniel Rabice, and Nicholas and Jacob Bullis; his brother R. Jack Naugle of Carlisle PA; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Richard was born in Shippensburg on April 1, 1924 and was a 1942 graduate of the Shippensburg High School. He was a veteran of World War II, serving with the 306th General Hospital in the European Theater of Operations. Richard worked at Letterkenny Army Depot for 34 years in many different capacities, mainly in the supply area, and was a life member of the VFW, the American Legion, and the Cumberland Valley Hose Company, all in Shippensburg. He was an avid bowler and also enjoyed hunting, fishing and playing golf.
A viewing will be held at the Fogelsanger-Bricker Funeral Home & Crematorium, 112 W. King St., Shippensburg, PA, on Sunday, July 24th, from 5 until 7 pm. The funeral service will be at the funeral home on Monday, July 25th, at 10 am, followed by interment at Spring Hill Cemetery with Military Honors conducted by the Shippensburg Veterans Council.
