Richard P. Clugh, Sr., 80 of Shippensburg, died Friday, June 11, 2010 in his home.
Born May 20, 1930 in Shippensburg, he was a son of the late Frank Clugh and Mabel Mellott Clugh Bitner.
He was a retired broker of scrap metal for over 40 years with Claster Corp., Conshohocken, PA and a volunteer with the PA Game Commission in Morgantown, PA. Richard was a United States Navy Veteran of the Korean War and a life member of both the Durff-Kuhn VFW Post # 6168 and the Oscar M. Hykes American Legion Post # 223, both in Shippensburg. He enjoyed hunting and fishing and was a 1948 graduate of the Shippesnburg Area Senior High School.
He is survived by his wife of 27 years Jean R. Arnold Detwiler Clugh, three sons; Richard P. Clugh, Jr. and his fiance’ Ellie of Orrstown, Stephen M. Clugh of NJ, and Paul D. Clugh of Lansdale, one daughter, Diana Sheridan of NJ, two step daughters; Paula Grimstead of NC, and Becki King of New Cumberland, 12 grandchildren, 7 step grandchildren, several great grandchildren and step great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by one son, Jack Clugh, four brothers; Lee, Frank, Jr., Clyde, and Donald Clugh, and one sister, Dorothy Koehler.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, June 19, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. in the Fogelsanger-Bricker Funeral Home Inc., Shippensburg. Officiating will be The Rev. Garry L. Culler and The Rev. James O. Bolich. Burial will be in Spring Hill Cemetery. A viewing will be held one hour prior to the services on Saturday in the funeral home.
