Richard H. Calvert, 73, of Harrisburg, departed this life on the evening of Friday, May 24, 2019, at the Soldiers and Sailors Memorial Hospital in Wellsboro, PA.
He was born on June 8, 1945, in Williamsport, son of the late John R. and Katherine P. Baer Calvert. Richard was a 1964 graduate of C.A.S.H.S. He married Bonnie K. (Cain) Cirillo on April 30, 1994, in Tennessee.
Richard was employed as a mechanic for most of his life. He worked out of Harrisburg as a fleet mechanic for Exxon/Mobile and then UGI, retiring in 2007. Richard was currently employed part-time at Susquehanna Valley Harley Davidson, as a driver/transporter, a job which he really enjoyed. He was also a member of H.O.G. and loved riding his motorcycle.
In his free time, Richard liked to tinker in his garage. He also enjoyed watching NASCAR and long ago used to race a street stock car. Richard had a large family and spending time with them was very important to him.
In addition to his wife of twenty-five years, Bonnie, he is survived by his son, Curtis R. Calvert and wife Toni; his daughter, Angela S. Calvert and her fiance’ Ron Myers, and his two sons, Zak and Nick; grandson, Shane R. Calvert; step-children, Gina M. Deiter and Lawrence A. Cirillo; step-grandchildren, Amanda Mills and Trevor Deiter; step-great grandchildren, Amya, Macarius, Vanica, and Angelo; one sister, Eunice L. Calvert; sister-in-law, Quovene Calvert; brother-in-law, Harold Bender; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Richard was preceded in death by his brother, R. Wayne Calvert; and two sisters, Marie Bender and Gail Clopper and her husband Ronald.
His funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m., on Friday, May 31, 2019, at the Fogelsanger-Bricker Funeral Home & Crematorium, Inc., Shippensburg. Pastor Jim Moss, Jr., will officiate. Interment will follow in the Mongul Cemetery. Viewing will be one hour prior to the service on Friday, at the funeral home.
