Richard Butler

Richard S. Butler, 49, of Newville, died on the morning of Sunday, November 4, 2012, at the Carlisle Regional Medical Center.

He was born on October 5, 1963, in Carlisle, the son of Roy W. and Reba C. Shunk Butler.

Richard was currently employed as a Director at the Pennsylvania Higher Education Assistance Agency (P.H.E.A.A.), in Harrisburg, where he had worked for sixteen years.

Richard was a workaholic, who enjoyed tending to his yard, which always looked immaculate.

He is survived by his parents, Roy and Reba Butler of Newville; his partner, Scott Kelly of Newville; and many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.

His funeral service will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Friday, November 9, 2012, at the Fogelsanger-Bricker Funeral Home, Inc., Shippensburg. The Rev. Wayne A. Good will officiate. Interment will follow in the Cumberland Valley Memorial Gardens, Carlisle. Viewing will be Friday morning, from 10:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m., at the funeral home.
