Richard P. Bender, 73, of Chambersburg, passed away Thursday, February 6, 2020 at Elmcroft of Shippensburg.
He was born September 7, 1946 in Carlisle, PA. Richard was a son of the late Herman P. and Virginia Kramer Bender.
Richard was a United States Army Veteran during the Vietnam War and was a member of the Army Air National Guard.
Richard is survived by his wife Leeanne Miller Bender, one daughter, Tiffani R. Burns and her husband Justin of Evans, GA, one son, Michael T. Bender of Ashville, NC, one sister, Melinda Jo Wise and her husband Ted of Shippensburg and two granddaughters, Brynlie and Brooklyn Burns, two nieces, Jocelyn Brindle and her husband Jason of Shippensburg and Justyna Wise of Savanah, GA.
A private memorial service with military honors will be conducted at the Indiantown Gap National Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Wounded Warrior Project, P. O. Box 758516, Topeka, KS 66675-8516 or www.woundedwarriorproject.org.
