Richard Bard

Richard A. “Dick” Bard, 65, of Shippensburg, passed away the morning of Saturday, April 2, 2022 at his home.

He was born on June 30, 1956 in Chambersburg, a son of the late Harry and Mildred (Ocker) Bard.

Dick was a graduate of the Shippensburg High School and was a life-long dairy farmer alongside his wife, Connie. He was a member of the Cumberland County Farm Bureau and Land O’Lakes, Inc. Dick was also very involved in Shippensburg athletics, officiating both youth and high school basketball games for over 25 years.

He is survived by five brothers, Harold, Donald (Donna), Kenneth (Shelley), Jeffrey, and David Bard; three sisters, Nancy (George) Fritz, Judy Eichelberger, and Susan Bricker; special cousin, Kim Falvey; and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Connie S. (Tosten) Bard, who passed away on November 29, 2018; and a sister, Doris Bard.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, April 6, 2022 at 2:00 p.m. in the Fogelsanger-Bricker Funeral Home & Crematorium, Inc. with Pastor Gary Hornbaker officiating. Burial will follow in the Spring Hill Cemetery. A viewing will be held Wednesday from 12:30 p.m. until the time of the service at the funeral home.
