Richard B. “Dick” Kunkleman, 74, of Shippensburg, went to be with the Lord on the afternoon of Wednesday, November 2, 2022, at home surrounded by his family.
He was born on October 18, 1948, in Chambersburg, a son of the late Bruce and Bernita M. (Ordway) Kunkleman, Jr. Dick was a 1967 graduate of Shippensburg High School. He married Donna L. Reed on February 26, 1967.
Dick worked in his family’s cleaning business for over sixty years, the majority of his entire life. He, along with his father, started the former Vapor Jet Professional Cleaning in the 1970’s and eventually assumed ownership of the former Shippen Cleaners from his parents and retired from the business in 2021.
He was a member of the Cumberland Valley F. & A.M. #315, Valley Forest #145 Tall Cedars of Lebanon, Hub City Club, and Minnequa Social Club, all of Shippensburg. In his younger years, Dick was a member of the former Shippensburg Jaycees and participated in the local social club bowling and dart leagues. In his free time, he enjoyed golfing, baseball, NASCAR, and loved hunting.
In addition to his wife of fifty five years, Donna, he is survived by two daughters, Tracey L. Lytle and fiancé Jeff Gibson of Harrisonville and Nicole M. Reasner and husband Pierron of Neelyton; four granddaughters, Trista, Torie, Laney, and Kierson; four great grandchildren, Cayden and Kensley and Brayden and Reagan; two sisters, Stephanie A. Coldsmith of Chambersburg and Pamela L. Negley and husband Barry of Shippensburg; brother, Jeffrey Kunkleman and wife Marge of Shippensburg; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Dick was preceded in death by a sister, Kathy Keller.
His funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m., on Wednesday, November 9, 2022, at the Fogelsanger-Bricker Funeral Home & Crematorium, Inc., Shippensburg. His son in law, Pierron Reasner will officiate, assisted by Pastor Ed Seeley. Interment will follow in the Parklawns Memorial Gardens. Viewing will be one hour prior to the service on Wednesday morning at the funeral home.
