Rhoda L. Carbaugh, 82, of Newburg, passed away Monday, May 15, 2017 at home.
She was born May 24, 1934 in Lurgan Township, Franklin County, PA. Rhoda was a daughter of the late Roy and Mary Snoke Davidson.
She was a member of the Newburg United Methodist Church and a member of their Bible Sunday School Class. Rhoda was a graduate of the former Shippensburg High School. She helped her husband at Marty’s Reloading Shop. Rhoda will be remembered as a woman of strong faith and she quietly served others while volunteering at the Church’s Clothing Center.
The family wishes to thank all of the wonderful hospice employees who were there for the past three years.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Martin P. “Marty” Carbaugh who passed away October 14, 2003. Three brothers, Robert, Lee and Jay Davidson are also deceased.
Rhoda is survived by two sons, Douglas R. (Deborah) Carbaugh and Dwight D. Carbaugh all of Newburg, one daughter, Donna F. (Galen) Johnson of Shippensburg, four grandchildren, Laura Jesic, Sara Felix, Byron Nye and Selina Miles, one great grandson, Karter Jesic, one brother, Kenneth Davidson of Reistertown, MD, two sisters, Fredith Diehl and Betty Chamberlin both of Shippensburg and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held Monday, May 22, 2017 in the Newburg United Methodist Church at 11 a.m. Officiating will be The Rev. Steve P. Salisbury. Burial will be held in the Otterbein Cemetery. A viewing will be held Monday one hour prior to the services at church.
