Rev. W. Stanley Darrah, 87, of Chambersburg, passed away Tuesday, July 6, 2021 at York Hospital.
Born Monday, September 11, 1933 in Cresap, Marshall County, WV, he was a son of the late Clarence and Bernice Estep Darrah.
Stanley received his Bachelor’s Degree in 1955 from Findlay College, now University of Findlay, Findlay, OH. He received his Masters of Divinity from Winebrenner Seminary, Findlay, OH in 1972.
Stanley Pastored Churches in Pennsylvania, Ohio, and Indiana. He retired from the Shippensburg First Church of God. He was the former President of the Board of Trustees of Winebrenner Seminary, former board member of the Carlisle Church of God Home, and served in various other capacities in the Church of God Conferences.
Surviving are three sons, Daniel E. (wife Carolyn) Darrah, Newburg, William J. (wife Penny) Darrah, Ft. Wayne, IN, and David M. (wife Lynne) Darrah, Mt. Wolf; two daughters, Chriss A. Darrah, Ft. Wayne, IN, and Amy L. (husband Brian) Mowers, Shippensburg; 13 grandchildren; and 10 great grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, JoAnn Faler Darrah, who passed away December 19, 2020; two brothers, two sisters, and one grandson, Thomas J. Tountzios.
Funeral services will be held Monday, July 12, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. at the Shippensburg First Church of God, with Pastor Alan Mathna officiating. Burial will be in Spring Hill Cemetery. A viewing will be held Sunday from 1:00 until 3:00 p.m. and 5:00 until 7:00 p.m. in the Fogelsanger-Bricker Funeral Home & Crematorium Inc. and also one hour prior to the service on Monday in the church.
