Rev. Charles H. Duffy, 81, of Newburg, went to be with the Lord on the evening of Saturday, July 14, 2012.
He was born on June 16, 1931, in Mt. Union, PA, the only child of the late Charley and Lottie Pearl Kramer Duffy. Charles was a U.S. Navy Veteran of the Korean War, enlisting on August 24, 1951 and honorably discharged on August 19, 1954.
After serving his country in the Navy, Charles married Ms. Loretta B. Williamson on August 9, 1957, in Shippensburg. Starting their life together and his career, Charles went on to pastor seven congregations in the Church of God.
He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Loretta B. Williamson Duffy, his daughter, Carol A. (Rev. James) Hull of Jacksonville, FL; two grandsons, Justin N. (Amanda) Hull of Largo, FL and Marcus A. Hull of Jacksonville, FL; and two great grandchildren, Ashtyn and Austen Hull of Largo, FL.
A homecoming celebration will be conducted at 11:00 a.m., on Saturday, July 21, 2012, at the Fogelsanger-Bricker Funeral Home, Inc., Shippensburg. The Rev. Keith R. Bell will officiate, with military honors, conducted by the Shippensburg Area Veterans Council, to follow. Interment will be in the Ft. Indiantown Gap National Cemetery. Viewing will be one hour prior to the service on Saturday at the funeral home.
