Reba “Becky” Scott

Reba “Becky” Scott, 86, of Newburg, died on Tuesday, June 8, 2010, at her home.
Born on August 21, 1923, in Rigeway, WV, a daughter of the late George T. and Annie Ryman Miller.
On October 9, 1943, Reba married Mr. Walter W. Scott in Salina, KS. He preceded her in death on December 28, 2000.
Reba was a wife and mother, tending to the home. She and her husband owned and operated their dairy farm for many years.
She was a member of the Ridge Church of the Brethren, enjoyed knitting, sewing, quilting, and crocheting, and loved flowers, gardening, and watching the birds around her house.
Reba is survived by her son, George W. (Janet) Scott of Newburg; two daughters, Phyllis W. (Gerald) Hershey of Shippensburg and Lois E. (Donald) Gruver of Walnut Bottom; one sister, Georgia Kearns of KS; one sister-in-law, LuRee Miller of WV; ten grandchildren, seventeen great grandchildren, one great great grandson, and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by two daughters, in infancy, two brothers, and two sisters.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, June 11, 2010, at the Ridge Church of the Brethren. The Rev Earl F. Stovall will officiate. Interment will be in the Ridge Cemetery. Viewing will be one hour prior to the service at church on Friday.
