Ray W. Tosten, 82, of Chambersburg, a resident of the Shook Home, died on the evening of Monday, June 18, 2012, at the home.
He was born on February 9, 1930, in Hopewell Twp., Cumberland Co., a son of the late Russell W. and Maude E. Halter Tosten. On August 8, 1952 Ray married Ms. Helen L. Rebok, by candlelight, in the Newburg United Methodist Church.
Ray was a lifelong farmer on his father’s farmland. He was a member of the Ridge Church of the Brethren, Shippensburg.
Ray is survived by his wife of 59 years, Helen; one daughter, Helen G. (Michael ) Bulka of Chambersburg; four brothers, Paul R. (Mary) Tosten, Harry W. (Esther) Tosten, Wilbur L. (Catherine) Tosten, and Clarence E. (Sarah) Tosten, all of Shippensburg; two grandsons, Michael R. and Brandon L. Bulka, both of Chambersburg; and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Vada V. Hile.
His funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, June 23, 2012, at the Ridge Church of the Brethren. The Rev. Earl F. Stovall & Rev Harold E. Yeager will officiate. Interment will follow in the Ridge Cemetery. Viewing will be Friday evening from 7:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. at the Fogelsanger-Bricker Funeral Home, Inc., Shippensburg and one hour prior to the service on Saturday, at church.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Ridge Church of the Brethren at 1095 Ridge Road Shippensburg, PA 17257.
