Ray Myers

Ray S. Myers, 82, of Pleasant Hall, PA, passed away Friday, December 1, 2023 at his home, surrounded by his loving family.

Born Friday, April 11, 1941 in Roxbury, PA., he was a son of the late Donald C. and Sara Virginia Myers.

Ray was a member of the Lurgan United Brethren Church. He retired as the owner and operator of R.S. Myers Welding in Shippensburg. He was a member of the Orrstown Lodge #262 F. & A.M., Harrisburg Consistory A.A.S.R., The Shippensburg Scottish Rite Club, and the Hub City Club in Shippensburg.

He was a former member of the Gold Wing Road Riders Club, and the Good Sam’s Camping Club. He enjoyed riding motorcycles, car shows, camping, traveling, and having his hands in everything, especially tinkering on old street rods.

Ray loved visiting his friends and family whom he loved and cherished.

Ray is survived by two sons, Steven R. Myers, Orrstown, and Matthew D. (Candice) Myers, Upper Strasburg; two grandsons, Jesse and Joshua Myers, both of Bedford; one granddaughter, Haley Myers, Upper Strasburg; and one sister, Donna Witmer, Chambersburg.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 61 years that he married August 25, 1962, Mary Ann Petruska Myers, who passed away August 15, 2022; and one son Johnny Anthony Myers.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, December 6, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. at the Lurgan United Brethren Church, with the Rev. Arthur Page officiating. Burial will be in the Spring Hill Cemetery. A viewing will be held Tuesday, from 4:00 until 6:00 p.m. at the Fogelsanger-Bricker Funeral Home & Crematorium Inc, with a Masonic Service being held at 6:00 p.m. and a second viewing being held one hour prior to the service on Wednesday, at the church.
