Ray E. Horst, 59 of Rowe Run Road, Shippensburg, died Saturday, November 6, 2010 at his home.
Born April 28, 1951 in Chambersburg, he was a son of the late Wayne L. Sr. and Martha V. Helm Horst.
Ray was a 1969 graduate of the Shippensburg High School. He worked for Fayetteville Contractors as a carpenter. Ray was a member of the Shippensburg Church of the Brethren, the Hub City Club and the Durff-Kuhn VFW Post # 6168 both in Shippensburg. He was an avid reader, loved attending auctions and sales and was a loving and devoted brother and uncle.
Surviving are two brothers; Richard L. Horst and his wife Trudy and Marlin J. Horst and his wife Brenda all of Shippensburg, one sister; Brenda J. Derick and her husband Robert, Newburg, two nephews; Tim W. Derick, Newburg and Dexter Lee Horst, Shippensburg, two nieces; Amy M. Horst and Sheena L. Horst, both of Shippensburg and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Wayne L. Horst Jr.
A private Graveside service will be held in Spring Hill Cemetery with Pastor John R. Horst officiating.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania, 3400 Spuce Street, Philadelphia, PA 19104
