Ray Hockenberry

Ray M. Hockenberry, 74, of Shippensburg, died Thursday, November 6, 2014 in the Chambersburg Hospital.

Born Saturday, September 7, 1940 in Green Spring, Cumberland County, he was a son of the late Cloyd Ellis and Esther K. Burkholder Hockenberry.

Ray retired as a Weaver from the former Hoffman Mills in Shippensburg after 27 years of service. He was a member of the Minnequa Social Club, Shippensburg and a former member of the NRA and North American Hunting Club. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, yard sales, working on lawnmowers, clocks and guns.

Surviving is his wife of 50 years, Ruth A. Hoch Hockenberry, one son, Kelly Ray Hockenberry and his wife Sandra of Shippensburg, three daughters, Christina R. Wiest of Shippensburg, Stacey A. Lautsbaugh and her husband, Wayne of Cadott, WI and Lisa K. Malaszuk of Thorp WI, two brothers, Fred L. Hockenberry of Shippensburg and Eugene L. Hockenberry and his wife Nancy of Chambersburg one sister, Leora G. Shrawder of Shippensburg, nine grandchildren, six great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his step father, Harold L. Koser, three brothers, Ellis, Wayne and Elwood Hockenberry and one grandson Nathan Ray Hockenberry.

Funeral services will be held Friday, November 14, 2014 at 10:00 a.m. in the Fogelsanger-Bricker Funeral Home Inc., with the Rev. Earl F. Stovall officiating. Burial will be in Spring Hill Cemetery. A viewing will be held Thursday from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. and one hour prior to the service on Friday in the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Kidney Foundation of Central PA 1500 Paxton Street Suite 101 Harrisburg, PA 17104.
