Randy E. Sutphin, 73, of Shippensburg, departed this life on the morning of Sunday, December 23, 2018, at his home.
He was born on July 25, 1945, in Floyd, VA, a son of the late Leonard and Treva Bolt Sutphin and married Betty Jane Hodge on May 5, 1970.
Randy worked as a truck driver for several different companies, retiring in 1995. In his free time, Randy enjoyed taking long drives with his wife, Betty. Randy loved music. He played the guitar in a band when he lived in Florida and also, he and Betty played together, as a duet, when they lived in Virginia. Randy also liked to fish, play cards, and watch football.
In addition to his wife of forty-eight years, Betty, he is survived by two brothers, Richard (Ruby) Sutphin of Floyd, VA and Ronnie (Fern) Sutphin of Willis, VA; one sister, Marlene (Cecil) Compton of Floyd, VA; sister-in-law’s, Helen Thompson of Shippensburg and Dorothy Guinn of Montana; six nephews; and eight nieces.
In addition to his parents, Randy was preceded in death by two brothers, David and Ray Sutphin; and two sister-in-law’s, Shirley Johnson and Mildred White.
His funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m., on Wednesday, January 2, 2019, at the Fogelsanger-Bricker Funeral Home & Crematorium, Inc., Shippensburg. Mr. William Gruver will officiate. Interment will follow in the Cumberland Valley Memorial Gardens, Carlisle. Viewing will be one hour prior to the service on Wednesday at the funeral home.
