Randy Lynn Heckman, 65, of Shippensburg, departed this life unexpectedly on the morning of Monday, May 23, 2022.
He was born on March 16, 1957, in Chambersburg, a son of the late Charles L. and Helen M. (Greenawalt) Heckman, Sr. Randy was a 1975 graduate of Shippensburg Area High School. He married Virginia I. Truax on February 21, 1981, in the St. Thomas U.M.C.
Randy worked as a master fabricator/carpenter at AWI, Shippensburg, for over thirty years. He had currently been employed for the past four years at H&H Collision Center as a detailer.
Randy’s main interest throughout the majority of his life was following the local dirt track racing circuit. He helped build and work on many cars over the years, but his main enjoyment came from traveling to all the different tracks to watch and talk racing with friends. He also liked to hunt and fish, golf, motorcycling, woodworking, and going camping with his wife Virginia.
In addition to his wife of forty-one years, Virginia, he is survived by two sons, Travis Lynn Heckman of Shippensburg and Chase Alan Heckman and wife Sarah of Shippensburg; one grandson, Layton Daniel Heckman of Saltillo; three siblings, Rick Heckman and wife Eileen of Chambersburg, Barbara Seville and companion Greg Miller of Hershey, and Charles Heckman, Jr., of Chambersburg; sister in law, Leslie Heckman of Shippensburg; and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Randy was preceded in death by a brother David Heckman.
His graveside funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m., on Friday, May 27, 2022, in the Spring Hill Cemetery, Shippensburg. The Rev. Judi Herrold will officiate. Viewing will be Thursday evening from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., at the Fogelsanger-Bricker Funeral Home & Crematorium, Inc., Shippensburg.
